Kareena Kapoor Khan is in a constant quest to play the good, the bad and the ugly. The actress has succumbed to none of the three and yet manages to remain fascinating. Starring alongside Aamir Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui is Rani Mukherji, who's deservingly getting the best opening-weekend business of her career so far. 'Talaash' is a nerve-jangling, dark thriller with a beautiful film-camera score. Is that enough to make this one of Bollywood's finest films of 2012? Nawazuddin Siddiqui does a commendable job except for the sacrifice scene, where he seems incapable of playing with fear. He's better than in 'Fanaa', as he's sparer, but still too many ifs and buts. Kareena's performance is controlled and convincing in every department, except a few, where she's a little too obvious, showing off her acting skills at every opportunity. Her character, Maa Kasam, goes as warm as her mothers. Zoya Akhtar makes the best of her writing success, turning out a tight thriller, which has a little something to offer for every type of film-goer.
